| "It Never Rains in Southern California" is nearly true. The exception months are February and March, when it gets greener than usual, perhaps
in honor of St. Patrick's Day.
Three of these photos were taken on rainy days in March. Two are from Descanso Gardens, in La Caņada-Flintridge, which is deservedly rated a "must see" in
the Auto Club tour guide.
Photo #2 was taken 3/5/00 -- a rainy, windy day at Disneyland. Central Plaza, with its statue of Walt and Mickey, looked particularly beautiful with this tree in full bloom, and no crowd.
Now there wasn't a tree that looked like that a week ago. If you know a Disney Landscape Artist please find out for us if they transplant whole trees to work
their magic.
The waterfall picture was taken at the Los Angeles Arboretum on a hot day in January, 2000. While wandering, we
noticed strange spikes sticking through a sprawling lawn, as pictured at the right. Turned
out to be a set constructed for "Little Nicky", a movie being filmed there.
